Therapy for shame, overthinking and feeling not good enough, in Verwood and online across the UK.

Coping on the outside?

Inside you feel anxious, self-critical, emotionally reactive, numb, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together.

I help adults work safely with shame, low self-worth, difficult emotional patterns and the deeper beliefs underneath that you may be familiar with:

“I’m broken”

“I’m not good enough”

“I’m helpless”

“I’m unlovable”

“I can’t trust anyone”

“I’m a bad person”

This is collaborative and empowering therapy done at a pace that does not overwhelm you but allows you to feel confident.

I’m Ben, a hypno-psychotherapeutic counsellor.

I work with adults from all walks of life, many of whom feel like they’ve tried everything else or are unsure what’s “wrong.”

Together, we’ll create a therapeutic space that’s safe, collaborative, and centred on your pace.

This isn’t quick-fix or surface-level work.

It’s honest, respectful, grounded, and focused on sustainable change.

Note: I’m currently working towards full UKCP accreditation. My practice is closely supervised by an experienced UKCP-accredited psychotherapist, ensuring you receive high-quality, ethically grounded support.

Let’s take that first step together.

You may be here because…

A man in a black outdoor jacket with a backpack standing in a forest, looking up thoughtfully.

You replay conversations and mistakes long after they have happened.

You feel like maybe you are not enough, or too much, or somehow behind in life.

You become defensive, angry, withdrawn or reactive in relationships, even when part of you knows you do not want to respond that way.

You look functional on the outside but feel exhausted, ashamed or numb inside.

You want therapy that goes deeper than tips and techniques, but still feels safe, grounded and paced.

Explore in a private and productive space.

My work is relational and trauma-informed and depth-focused. That means we do not simply try to force symptoms away. We listen carefully to what your anxiety, shame, anger, numbness or self-criticism may be trying to protect you from.

Depending on what feels right for you, our work may include counselling, hypnotherapy, parts-informed work, imagery, grounding, emotional regulation and safe ways of working with distressing memories.

You stay in control throughout. We go at your pace. The aim is not to overwhelm you, but to help you build more steadiness, self-trust and choice.
